Arava Tamarisk Flower Honey

Tamarisk is one of the few species of trees that can develop nicely in the Negev and Arava drylands. The tamarisk belongs to the Tamaricaceae family, which numbers about 50 to 60 species and includes trees and shrubs. Most of the tamarisk species are of Sahara-African origin and are related to sandy regions.
The general color of the tree is grayish-green due to the salt that is secreted from its leaves. The tamarisk blooms at the height of summer until autumn. During it blossom, it is covered with purple flowers.
